ZONES OF YOUR FIELD
✦
ZONES OF YOUR FIELD ✦
The following will help you understand what cards do when they are played in each Zone.
There are 3 Character Zones, 3 Effect Zones, 1 Deck Zone, and 1 Discard Zone on the Field.
CHARACTER ZONES
There are 3 Character Zones on every Player’s Field.
Once a Player controls a Character in the 3 Character Zones they control, they cannot play any more Characters to the Field.
EFFECT ZONES
There are 3 Effect Zones on every Player’s Field.
Once a Player controls an Effect in the 3 Zones they control, they cannot SET any more Effects to the Field.
DECK ZONE
This is a Zone to place your Deck. (Face down of course!) Ensure you are adhering to the format Official Rules, or House/Homebrew Rules for Deck size.
DISCARD ZONE
When a card is Destroyed, or Discarded (from either the Field, your Hand or your Deck) it will go to the Discard Zone FACE UP. It is recommended you leave the cards in the order they are sent into the Discard Zone. There is no limit to how many cards may be in any Discard zone(s).
Any Player is able to scan and account for anything in all Discard Zones at all times.
YOUR HAND
Your hand is not a Zone, but a targetable region in the game, via Card Effects.
It will contain a maximum size of 4 cards (according to Official Rules & unless Specified by a Card Effect). There may be instances in which you have no cards in hand.
Cards in your hand should ideally be confidential to you. Sharing information about the Cards in your hand are completely up to the Player (however it is recommended you don’t share your hand.)
OUTSIDE OF THE GAME
Out of the game, removed from game, or outside of the game, refers to a region which is neither a Zone nor targetable (unless by Effect.) Typically this is a Zone where a card would go if an Effect removes a Card from the game entirely. It is NOT the Discard pile. This region is NOT a part of the Field.
The Game refers to the game in which you are playing. Cards removed from the game are then returned to your deck after the game is done.
